Cultivating Change: engaging communities through gardening & growing to support mental health.

Through our 2 key programmes, ‘Cultivating Change in the Community’ & ‘Cultivate & Educate’ we provide seed donations, growing workshops, community days, assemblies, resources, virtual & in-person support to educate, empower & engage people in gardening activities promoting life-long habits to foster wellbeing.

The need for our work in schools has never been greater and we know that in 2023, one in five children in England (aged 8-16) were diagnosed with a mental health condition while at the same time, the average child now spends less time outdoors than a maximum security prisoner.

Gardening provides a simple yet powerful solution with extensive research proving its benefits in terms of reducing stress and loneliness and also decreasing the symptoms of depression and anxiety.

In 2025 alone, we have donated seeds to over 40 schools and worked closely with six Cambridgeshire schools - four primary, one secondary and one SEND school and we have many more schools now keen to partner with us in 2026 and beyond.
